Doing Good 2: Warby Parker.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, but I have included affiliate links. I’ve loved WP since my first pair of frames in 2010. Below is my personal story.

I mentioned in a past post about Falling Whistles that I’m a huge fan of retail companies who have a positive mission statement.Warby Parker definitely fits my “do good” mold.

If you haven’t already heard about the, WP is a company that focuses on eyeglasses and adopts two big missions that I love:
1- Glasses don’t have to cost you a million dollars!
2- You buy a pair, we give a pair.

Yep. I’m in!

So about two years ago I purchased the Reece frame and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s why:

First off, let me tell you that their customer service is second to none. I’m talkin’ so good that I actually got my first frames from them for free.  I had actually ordered 2 pairs of classes (the Reese and the Zagg) the first time around. My order went in no problem but a few days later I got a phone call from a Warby rep explaining that there was an error in their system and the Zaggs were currently back ordered  Before I could even say anything they said, “We’re so sorry that we didn’t catch this sooner. We wanted to tell you personally and give you the chance to cancel your order if you don’t want to wait. We also wanted to let you know that your glasses are on us this time”.

What?
Let me make sure you understand this. This company made a boo-boo, caught it early, called me, and talked to me openly and honestly about the problem. Then they apologized and offered me a free pair of glasses without me asking?

Yep!
I ended up canceling my Zagg order and they sent me my Reece frames for free less than a week later. I immediately took this picture and plastered Warby Parker’s website all over the internet.

WP and their awesome staff definitely get a big thumbs up from me!

Besides their ridiculously easy customer service, their frames are also amazingly affordable. The company was originally started by a handful of glasses-wearing-college-grads who realized that if they cut out the middle man they could make and sell cute glasses for fair prices. For $95 your frames, lenses and shipping are all taken care of….and because of your purchase, someone in need will also be able to see a little better. Watch their video to get a better idea of who they are and why they are so great.

They also added some prescription and non-prescription sunglasses to their inventory about two summers ago. I think I like the Madison the best…but I really can’t decide.

Have you purchased a pair of Warby Parker glasses before?
Do you have an excellent customer service story?

With Luck

PS-Want a better idea of how the frames will look on you? Do a FREE home try-on order. Pick up to 5 frames to be sent to your door. You will have 5 days to try them on, take a million pictures and ask for some advice before you send them back. You can also upload your photos to the Warby Parker FB page for suggestions! (Purchase is not necessary.)

PPS-I was in no way, shape or form compensated for this post. But if you’re reading this, WP, I’m totally open to the idea of a courtesy post later on 🙂

    • me too! I got glasses in kindergarten and I was never very good at contacts. I’m so happy that glasses are more of a ‘thing’ now.

    • You should definitely do one of their home try-on orders. If you need help deciding which glasses to put in your order you can always give them a call. They suggested glasses for me the first time. No harm done if you end up going elsewhere but it’s just such a good price to get quality glasses for!

  1. I have Warby Parker glasses too! I loooove them, and my experience with them was absolutely amazing. The at-home trial was awesome, and a really good thing too.. seeing as Curtis tried to get his glasses from there as well, but he has a rather large head (don’t tell him I told you that ha!) and they didn’t look quite right on him. I bought the Preston in Whiskey Tortoise, and I’ve been thinking about ordering another pair (since I’ve had these for almost two years now) pretty soon..
