We’re just a few days into summer and I’m already melting here in south Florida. Why did nobody tell me how hot it would get? Just kidding- everyone told me how hot it would get. Turns out a Floridian summer looks a lot like a northerner’s winter- lots of indoor activities. Though I can definitely see myself enjoying a few Netflix days, I’m also still dedicated to enjoying the sunshine state. So here’s an idea of what I plan on doing. What do you hope your summer will look like?
Guys- Blogging is HARD. It’s really fun, but sometimes it’s just tough to keep up with. Take the last week or so for example. My sister graduated from college, so Dean and I flew up to PA with my family to celebrate. We tried our best to make our rounds and visit friends before coming back and we completely packed out our schedule. When we finally made it home home I realized I had some major work to get done. Before I could even unpack my bags, I drove 4+ hours up to central Florida to take part in my cousins baby shower.
While I’ve been enjoying life, I’ve also been tired. And tired Jenn does not equal productive Jenn. But here are some posts that could be helpful. I promise I’ll get something new up soon!
Yesterday I promised you a new drink recipe and so I’m here today to deliver on that promise. I came up with this recipe the other day after buying more pineapple chunks than I could actually eat in a short period of time. So out came the blender and I started poking around my fridge for something that could compliment one of my favorite summer fruits.
Pineapple Crush- the perfect summer smoothie
3/4 cup pineapple chunks
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup strawberry yogurt
1/4 cup of white chocolate chips/shavings
1/2 cup ice
Optional: Add a shot of rum to add a little kick!
All you have to do is throw all of your ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Who knew something so good could be so easy? I highly suggest bringing this drink out during your next outdoor summer meal. I promise it will be a hit!
So in the beginning of the summer I told myself that I was going on a shopping ban. Since then I’ve purchased the following:
1 pair of shorts
1 pair of shoes
1 pair of glasses
lots of yarn
various arts & craft items
gifts for various weddings/bridal showers/birthdays
I’m not sure what the actual definition of “shopaholic” is, but I’d assume this post explains it pretty well. Does it make things better if I tell you that I’ve also done a large scale closet purge? Probably not.
Anyway, this whole post is supposed to be based around my new romper. I never thought I would take the plunge and buy one, but I finally did and I’ll never go back! Besides the time consuming bathroom trips, this outfit is quickly becoming one of my favorites!
Any other romper fans out there? Where did you buy your favorite one?
PS- If the top half of this beauty looks familiar, it’s because it was also used on my monogram necklacepost!
I’m still alive, hangin’ strong on Long Island while enjoying my $5 mojitos and wearing the heck out of this maxi skirt. Why was I so against these when they first came out? This skirt and a simple tee are an easy choice when heading out to do ANYTHING in a beach town. You can go to lunch or dinner or enjoy drinks on the dock. You can head to a winery, explore the town, or actually go the beach! I’d say that I’ve worn something similar to this doing each one of these things out on Long Island this week. My goal is to see how many times I can get away with this trend without my family saying anything about it.
