Can you believe it’s already NOVEMBER? I just can’t get over it. I also feel like it’s been a while since I’ve stopped in. So what have I been up to lately….. that’s a good question! For starters, Dean and I dressed up as old ladies for Halloween. While it may have been put together less than 2 hours before we hit the town, I will say that it was pretty darn good! I mean I don’t want to brag, but it’s the first costume I’ve ever had that literally made people stop us in the streets for pictures. I’m sure that had nothing to do with the fact that Dean was wearing a mumu 😉
And yes I did bring out my knitting. I mean, I didn’t get anything done, but it was still a fun idea! Besides, I was a little knitted-out after working on a few new projects this week.. (eg: the hat below and these fun arm warmers!)
Okay moving on… I’ve also been pretty dedicated to my “get to know Miami” plan. Last week I went down to explore the Lowe’s Art Museum on UMiami’s campus. Coming from a school with a tiny little campus art gallery in PA, I’m still in awe at the size and talent showcased here! I also tested out my bowling skills down in South Miami anddddd the results were less than stellar. Pointers would be appreciated.
Oh, and did I mention that Dean and I took a little trip back home to PA? …after a quick staycation in Fort Lauderdale? We’ve seriously been living the life! One week we’re lounging by the pool and the next we’re layering on sweaters and checking out the fall foliage.
Seriously- Who are we?!

Guys- Blogging is HARD. It’s really fun, but sometimes it’s just tough to keep up with. Take the last week or so for example. My sister graduated from college, so Dean and I flew up to PA with my family to celebrate. We tried our best to make our rounds and visit friends before coming back and we completely packed out our schedule. When we finally made it home home I realized I had some major work to get done. Before I could even unpack my bags, I drove 4+ hours up to central Florida to take part in my cousins baby shower.
While I’ve been enjoying life, I’ve also been tired. And tired Jenn does not equal productive Jenn. But here are some posts that could be helpful. I promise I’ll get something new up soon!
It’s just the way I’ve always been. I like to tell stories. I like to make sure my point is coming across correctly. I like to laugh and be a part of conversations. And when I’m nervous? Oh lord. I talk even more! The good news here is that I like to listen, too. You’re lookin’ at “best listener” BBP class of 2006, y’all! I think this means that while I talk a lot, I’m fairly well rounded. I don’t want to be the only one in the conversation, ya know? But I still feel like I talk a little too much sometimes.
When we were in Austin, Nicole took Dean and I out to a little brunch at Kerby Lane (delish) and Nicole was talking about how she loves finding the best, most concise way to tell a story. To me, that sounds like a miracle! But since coming home, I’ve spent some more time thinking about what she said. There is definite beauty to creating more articulate and less wordy speech.
So I accidentally played a little hooky last week. My job took me out to the Hamptons with some of my favorite people, and, well, I just wasn’t going to question that.

My sister sings in an awesome a cappella group and they were performing on Friday so my mom came up to visit. Unfortunately Dean had to work Friday night and Saturday morning, but my mom, sister, Allegra and I had some nice girl time until Saturday afternoon. Before my mom left, we all drove into the Poconos to meet up with Dean’s mom and Dad for a little Mother’s Day lunch.
While it was great to see everyone, it was also really nice to spend some down time with Dean. I’ve been traveling so much for work that we haven’t really been able to see each other lately. We took Allegra to the dog park, went for some ice cream, and even started to watch Orange is the New Black with my sister (it’s awesome).
Yesterday was the best Wednesday of all winter- it was our first snow day! Since I unfortunately have to work for the next 3 weekends straight, I was more than happy to hang around and relax for the day. In case you’re wondering what made it so great, it was …
