I cannot believe Easter is this weekend! Dean and I area actually heading on a little holiday getaway, so you may not be hearing too much from me for the rest of the week. While I’m super excited to go, I don’t want to leave you without my typical last minute holiday roundup. Since I’m a baker that happens to also be a procrastinator, I know I’m always hunting these kinds of lists down last minute. Hopefully this will help you pull together some kind of cute treat for your family this Sunday!
Guys- it hit over 70 degrees yesterday! This means that I can pull out sleeveless tops, right? Because I’m trying to look through clothing for Easter this weekend, and I’m finding it difficult to choose anything but sleeveless tops. For the record, Dean and I are heading to AUSTIN, TEXAS for a long weekend, so sleeves will probably be optional. Saying that we’re super excited, is an understatement. Have any suggestions for our trip? Let us know!
PS- Easter wears from last year.
PPS- if you wanna write a last minute guest post, let me know! WLB will probably be a little quiet over the next week.
PPPS- See you soon, Nicole!
We’re only 2 days from Easter and I have done nothing. n-o-t-h-i-n-g. for the holiday. Instead of leaving you broken hearted, I thought that I would feed you with a few of my favorite Easter related Pinterest/blog finds… ya know. in case you celebrate and you’re looking for some inspiration.
Running late on making those baskets? Alyssa’s got you covered on the candy front.
Learn how to make your own version of Reese’s Eggs here.
I don’t have any kids to make toys for, but this almost makes me wish that I did. I would have already been at Michael’s buying the materials I needed to recreate this egg bowling set by 2 of my favorite people on the internet, John and Sherry. Edit: Dean says they remind him of Jello eggs…. remember those guys?
Why did the egg shape make Jello taste so good?
I love both toasted coconut and cadbury eggs so I’m actually saving this recipe from i heart nap time for after Easter…
Ain’t no shame in buying all of the candy up for a quarter of the price!
Dying eggs will probably be the only Easter-related activity Dean and I do. I’m really looking forward to making my own version of these striped Easter eggs. Jen’s trick? a rubber band. She’s a smart girl, that Jen.
And because it’s all about the presentation, I thought I would give you an idea of how I would have decorated for Easter.. had I done it. Thanks for letting me pretend, Leanne from catchmyparty.com!
What are you plans for this weekend?
Any fun tablescapes on your horizon?
Whenever I open up Polyvore, my original goal is always creating cute, affordable options, but affordable products aren’t always an option on there. Once I find one item I like (the blouse did it this time), I throw my wallet to the curb and just start putting something together. When I added in this awesome trench coat today I stopped and looked at the price and thought “what the heck am I doing?!” I can’t afford this stuff, but sometimes it’s nice to dream, isn’t it?
Do you fall into this trap, too?
Do you get frustrated looking at outfits you can’t afford?
Would you prefer if I added in more affordable options to these outfit creations?
