Doing Good: Roma Boots

I don’t know about you, but here in the northeast the weather is just starting to change to that cool, but sometimes sticky, fall weather. This  means more rainy, muddy fall days will be here before we know it! If you’re looking for a new pair of rain boots this year, you should definitely check out Roma Boots.

Much like Warby, Roma concentrates on a one-for-one attitude. For every pair of boots sold, one is donated to a child in need. As if that wasn’t enough, they also donate 10% of all sale proceeds to the Roma For All Foundation to help Romanian children “break out of their cycle of poverty and despair”.  This is a cause close to the hear of Roma’s founder, Samuel Bistrian, and if you have a few seconds, you should listen to his amazing story.

The styles are limited but they’re classic and get the job done. My favorites are the glossy navy and the matte brown.

Did I mention the fact that they also donate school supplies during their boot drop off? I love the fact that I can help promote the ideas of empowerment, education, and breaking the cycle with a boot purchase. Sure those Hunters are great, but I’d much rather give back than buy for a brand. Would you buy from a company like Roma?

And don’t forget about other companies doing good things.

  1. Those matte boots are fabulous! I wish I could fit my giant calves into a pair of rainboots because I would buy those in a heartbeat!

    • That’s the only thing I’m nervous about! I have wide calves so it’s always a 50/50 shot. They offer free exchanges though and they say they’re a little big. I might buy bigger and go for some big socks!

  2. Wow, this is amazing! I’d never heard of Roma before now and it’s such a great cause. It doesn’t rain much in Texas, but I used to go through cheap pairs all the time at Villanova. I will definitely be looking into these for the future!
