Doing Good: One Million Lights

I never have to worry about not having light. When the dark hours roll around, all I have to do is flip a switch and like magic I can stay up late getting things done. I can get ready for tomorrow, play with Allegra, or prep a blog post. Heck, when I was in school, I primarily did all of my school work at night! But there are millions of people around the world who don’t have that simple luxury. One Million Lights is a non-profit agency that is working to provide a safe way for families to function after dark.

Our mission is to improve the daily lives of children and adults by providing clean and healthy lighting. We distribute safe, rechargeable solar lights around the world, replacing dangerous and polluting kerosene lamps. via

A $15 donation will provide a light to a family in need,  but there are tons of other ways to get involved! You can read about specific projects they  have going on here, and then you can choose to donate to something specific. You can buy yourself a t-shirt or even participate in a buy one-give one program through a partnership with Energizer! I love that they let you choose where your money is going based on something that lies close to your heart.

Have you worked with any companies doing something good lately?

Every so often I like to highlight a company that’s doing something good. Usually I like to find companies that offer a 1-for-1 opportunity, but sometimes you just need to give something just for the sake of giving something. This post is NOT sponsored. It’s just something I wanted to share.
