Catching Up… Still (No. 3)

In the last few weeks we’ve already discussed the fact that I’ve been a little flaky… Sorry about that. We know that I’ve gone to a wedding and I went to The Office Wrap Party, but a few other things have been happening as well. Here’s a visual of my recent life.

We put up blinds, put together a little corner for Allegra’s stuff near the back door (aka Allegra’s Window), and put up my drunk octopus hook in the bathroom. Don’t you just love objects more when they remind you of animals? No? Just me? okay…

and then of course we have Mother’s Day weekend. My sister is part of an awesome all girls a capella group and she had a SOLO on Saturday. I’m talking a whole song was her standing center stage doin’ her thang and I am so proud of my not-so-little baby sister. So our family celebration started on Saturday when my mom came up to eat a lot of Chinese food and head out to watch Nicole perform. Once the concert was over and my mom was done crying (she’s a sensitive lady) we took this picture. Don’t we look alike?!
Edit: A video has been added at the end for all those interested in some music!

And then on Sunday Dean and I mashed up our families with a nice brunch in the Delaware Water Gap area. Me, my momma and my sister enjoyed some great food with Dean, his mom and dad, and his sister Steph (from Pretty Little Things!) and her main squeeze, D!

For some reason we were all about the LaDieZ oNLy photos on Sunday. Sorry boys!

I’ve also been eating A LOT of guacamole, doing a lot of work while finishing up my business traveling, and working late (I couldn’t believe I was out of work and it was still light out the other day!).

starbucksis it really still light out!

I‘ve also been taking a lot pictures of Allegra. Hasn’t she gotten so big! My little 8 lb puppy has somehow become 50 pounds!!Allegra the Dog

PHEW! I think we’re all caught up all the way through this past weekend now!
Back to your regularly scheduled posts tomorrow.

Speaking of the regular, I’ve been trying to come up some ideas for my summer posts. I have a few things up my sleeve, but what is it YOU want to see?

With Luck

PS- I wish we had gotten the whole thing but my mom seems to have camera issues.

Catch Up- Part Deux

Yesterday I told you that we had a lot to catch up on and then I only told you about one night. Although it was an awesome night, our catch up chat wouldn’t be complete without talking about this past weekend, right? Okay then. Grab your coffee and we’ll get started.

The Office Wrap Up Party

Ever hear of a little show called “The Office” on NBC? If not, you should know that it’s pretty darn funny but sadly after nine long seasons it’s coming to an end. The show takes place in the little city of Scranton, PA (aka my backyard) and the characters stop by once in a while to visit. (I was actually able to meet a few of the actors in 2007 when they hosted a convention in Scranton!) When I heard that they were bringing everyone back for the official “Office Wrap Up Party” this month, I knew I had to go. Luckily my office is awesome and I won a pair of tickets to the Q&A!

The Office Wrap Up Party

Now I have to admit that I’m not a long time lover of the show. Although I find it absolutely hilarious, I’ve only seen the first 4 seasons (I know, I know. Something is wrong with me.) Because of my lack of knowledge, I was probably in a little over my head at the event, but it was still a lot of fun! Enough talk- on to the photos!

(warning Twitter followers, some of these are repeats!)

Craig Robinson, Rainn Wilson, Ellie Kemper, Oscar Nuñez, Phyllis Smith, Creed Bratton, Paul Lieberstein, Greg Daniels, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Andy Buckley and the surprise guest -Steve Carell- all came out to play.

Plus, Co-Executive Producer Allison Silverman, Producer Steve Burgess, Director of Photography Matt Sohn, Property Master Phil Shea, Editor/Director Claire Scanlon, writer Carrie Kemper, and The Scrantones all made appearances as well.
The Office Wrap Up Party

Nobody knew that Steve Carell was coming (some of the cast was even in the dark about it!). You better bet when he got announced the entire audience erupted into hoots, hollers, whistles, and a general standing ovation- especially me. I like him a lot. He just seems so nice and down to earth, doesn’t he?The Office Wrap Up Party

Don’t mind glasses-man. He just happened to be the most prominent figure that got in the way of my perfect Phyllis shot. This is actually how majority of my photos came out- how rude, dude!

After the Q&A and our surprise fireworks came to an end, Dean and I drove home. You better bet that I threw my shoes back on in 2 seconds flat when this popped up on my phone.

The Office Wrap Up Party

Well technically this is the post from Friday that made me cry my eyes out because I had just missed them. But similar tweets flooded my twitter account on Saturday night when the cast went back to the bar to hang.

The cast came out to my favorite Scranton bar!

Unfortunately, I was only able to get a few bad pictures of Brian (Kevin in the show) so I’ll spare you. I’ll give you a clue to how it looks-he was wearing a hat, seemed a little bit hot and sleepy, and I’m pretty sure people were yelling drink orders at him (he was behind the bar). He did buy me a free shot though! And no, he didn’t buy them for the whole bar….

Anyway-Enough about me!
What did you do this weekend?
Are you a fan of The Office?
Ever met anyone famous?
On a scale from 1-10, how much do you love Steve Carell?

Weekend Recap: AC here we come!

I mentioned last week that I was headed to Atlantic City on Saturday to help my friend Kaitlyn celebrate before she becomes a Mrs – and celebrate we did! Her night was filled with lots of friends, food, dancing and phallic shaped symbols (necklaces, straws, candies, cakepops….). I feel like I also should mention that the emergency alarm at the casino also went off as soon as we got on line for the club. We were just too hot to handle, I suppose. 😉

She had the makings of a true bachelorette party if you ask me!

I didn’t bring my camera because I was scared that I would lose it, so please excuse my photo quality. Who knew that a cell phone would be such a bad choice in a club setting? Whoops!

And I’m sure you were worried about my outfit choice all weekend, so let me elaborate. I ended up going with an old dress I had completely forgotten about in the back of my closet. It’s a Maggie London dress I had found at a Ross in Maryland about a year ago for $30 and never worn! It was comfortable and covered everything it needed to so that I could have a fun and easy night of dancing.

party2 party3

hqOh. Chewbacca and an Usher look a-like also showed up.  Hilarious! party7

And in the wee hours of the morning, while eating chips and chocolate and complaining about how much our feet hurt, Kaitlyn mentioned that she couldn’t have asked for a better night – and that my friends, means that your body pains and old lady complaints are more than worth it.

So congratulations Kaitlyn! I can’t wait to celebrate with you once again at your wedding next month! (ahhhh next month!!)

Do you have any great batchelorette party stories?
What do you consider the making of a good night?

Weekend Recap: nails, hair and free things

I had a pretty good weekend filled with packages in the mail, sleep, a hair appointment  and some St. Paddy’s Day beers. I’m sure you want to feel like you were there with me, so I took some pictures for you.

First my Julep Maven box showed up and I love it. I received this box and immediately put on the color “Joy”. I love it. It went on so easily and it’s the perfect color for the winter-to-spring transition. Leila will have to wait til it gets justtt a little warmer out.

julepJulep- joy

Julep-Joy and LeilaThen my influenster box showed up. Are you part of influenster yet? Ohhh you should be! I learned about influenster through a post Evani first did and I quickly signed up. Basically you rate and review various products and you earn a score based on your involvement. Your reviews could land you some free stuff to try! I was lucky enough to get the Sugar ‘N Spice Voxbox (the second voxbox of 2013) and I can’t wait to give all of these things a try! You can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be doing another post on these items soon.Influenster VoxBox

After I painted my nails and poked around some of my new stuff, I slept a lot. No photos on that one.. but you can imagine me laying on the couch, probably drooling, with crooked glasses and the TV blaring. Does this sound prettier if I say Allegra was laying with me?

Well after sleeping all of Saturday, I woke up on Sunday and went to go get my hair done. This may sound crazy-but I’ve never colored my hair before. I mean I’ve done a few box dyes back in high school, but I’ve never walked into a salon and actually got my hair did. But I love this slight ombre look I’m seeing everywhere so I bit the bullet and went to my main man Christian to get it done. It was quite the experience-let me tell you!

hair2It’s nothing too crazy, but I’m really happy with it. I can totally understand how people can become “blonderexic” (as Christian kindly calls it).
I could see myself going lighter over the summer.

Oh andI’m obviously reppin’ my green scarf because it was St. Paddy’s Day! My green jacket may or may not have made an appearance as well.

green jacket

Okay, it did.

St. Patrick's Day

and so did this. I mean, I can’t really call myself Irish without a glass of beer on 3/17 can I?

So now it’s your turn to share in this conversation.

So what did you do this weekend?
Are you part of Julep or influenster?
Tell me about your hair experiences?!

Weekend Recap: Rolling Hills and Farmers Markets

On Friday, Evani asked in a comment if I was going to put a face to the blog and that’s when I realized that I haven’t really been giving you guys any life photos lately! When I started this blog at the end of the summer I gave you guys some weekend recap photos quite often. Then in the fall while I was traveling I gave you guys some outfit photos. Lately I’ve been posting so many different random things that I love that I’ve been hiding my face a little bit. Since I had such a funny Saturday, I thought I would use today to tell you a story and remind you all what I look like. Cool? Cool.

So, funny story for you all- A few friends and I decided to meet at a winery this weekend for some much overdue girl time and drinks. We don’t live near each other any more, so we did some research and decided to meet in the middle at a winery in Allentown, PA. Even though I grew up on Long Island (LI is known for their eastern wineries), I’ve still never been for a tasting. I was super excited to spend the day surrounded by rolling hills and grape vines.

I asked a ton of questions about what to wear. I mean, what do you wear to a nice winery when there’s snow on the ground? It’s certainly not summer dress season anymore. So I settled on a sweater, skinny jeans, and flats (it was really nice out on Saturday!) and was on my way. You can bet that we were all super surprised (and overdressed) when our GPS’s took us to the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market. I was SO happy that I left my heels at home.

Allentown FairgroundsYep. The actual vineyards were apparently about 12 miles away, but the tastings were held in a giant indoor farmers/flea market. Now don’t get me wrong-I love me some flea markets-but it’s not exactly the best place for some quiet girl talk. So we all got a good laugh, jumped in one car, got lost, went the wrong way down a one way, got a few death stares for parking in someones driveway to turn around,  and finally parked downtown to grab drinks at Allentown Brew Works instead. The brewery ended up being a great place to catch up, have a tasting of a different kind, and laugh about our day.

Allentown Brew WorksThe delicious beer didn’t hurt either. Has anyone else ever tried a brew from Fegley’s?

In case you all wanted to know what I wore, I got redressed on Sunday and asked Dean to take some photos for you all. (Sometimes you think of smart things after the fact.)

Sweater: JCrew Outlet (old)

Necklace: F21 (similar)

What did you guys do this weekend?
Have you ever been to a winery? Did it have rolling hills and a full vineyard?
How would you dress for a winter wine tasting?
