4 health benefits to drinking water

On my trip I had a water bottle attached to me at all times. I drank tons and tons of water daily, and since it was hot and I never felt truly hydrated I just drank more. It was awesome! Now that I’m home, I’m the worst. My water bottle has been in the kitchen and I think I may even have a dehydration headache. So now I’m writing a selfish yet educational post about why we all need to drink more water in the summer. Just in case you were ever looking for a reason to pick up a glass, here’s 4.


1- It will help you keep your weight in check.
Drinking water helps you feel full. Start drinking a glass or two before eating your meals and studies show you’ll eat ~75 fewer calories per meal! Every little calorie helps over bikini season!

2– It will help you achieve that glowing skin you’ve been looking for.
Dehydration makes your skin look more dry and wrinkled.  So when you keep yourself hydrated, you’re also keeping your skin moisturized and soft.

3- It will help you maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
Drinking water helps maintain your fluid levels, flush out toxins, keep your joints healthy, and helps your muscles work harder during your workouts. Keeping everything hydrated before, during, and after you exercise will allow for your maximum performance at the gym.

4-It will help your… errr regularity?

  1. I’m pretty good during the day at work since I always have a full tervis tumbler with me, but once I get home, it’s like I completely forget to drink water!

    • I’m the opposite! I do alright at home but the idea of getting out of my desk to refill kills me for some weird reason!

  2. You gotta drink so much water when you’re in more tropical humid places. I’ve been trying to drink at least one water bottle before lunch and at least one after while I’m at work. I always feel a little proud of myself when I drink more than that, even though it’s not much. It make a difference in my energy level as well.

    • It’s true! I didn’t even feel overly hot or sweaty but I definitely needed all the water I could get!

  3. Such an odd coincidence – I was just thinking today that this would be a good idea for a post. I think it’s an awesome reminder – I certainly don’t drink enough water!! I like #2 the best – I always feel dried out!

  4. I dont’ like the taste of water but I know it is good for me so it has always been a struggle for me to drink enough water… Just discovered infused waters..
